Weather around here had been giving us a bit of fall rather than a sunny spring. And this weather is keeping buyers from visiting, viewing and choosing their dream home. Yet the island is abuzz with builders, landscapers, painters working on myriad renovations and new construction. The market stumbled in the first 5 months of the year based on low inventory and a predominance of sales in the under $3,000 range. In May alone 72% of the transactional volume was in that range and 41% of dollar volume was in that range.
Financial markets continue with strong performance despite economic and political questions both nationally and internationally. This bodes well for the Nantucket real estate market and there are expectations of a strong summer despite the sluggish late winter and early spring.
