Have you started your spring cleaning and summer planning yet? With the weather slowly starting to warm up, I’m looking forward to sunnier days as the island starts coming back to life. Daffodils are starting to pop up all over, the first sign that spring has arrived on Nantucket. As the days get longer and businesses begin to open their doors again, there’s an undeniable sense of renewal in the air.

All of these changes have me thinking about some of my favorite things about spring on Nantucket, and I want to share them with you!

RESTAURANTS

The Nautilus: A must-visit located in the heart of Nantucket, The Nautilus offers a variety of tapas and small plates perfect for sharing with friends. With a lively atmosphere, it’s my go-to for delicious bites and expertly crafted cocktails.

167 Raw Nantucket Seafood Restaurant

167 Raw: For seafood lovers, 167 Raw is renowned for its always fresh seafood offerings. From oysters on the half shell to decadent lobster rolls, every dish is a celebration of flavor! It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a slow lunch or dinner after a day of exploring our beautiful island.

Claudette’s: In my opinion, there’s nothing better than bringing a sandwich to the beach on a beautiful day. Pack a picnic with one of Claudette’s signature sandwiches for the ultimate springtime dining experience. From classic favorites like turkey and avocado to creative creations using locally sourced ingredients, there’s something to satisfy every taste at this beloved Nantucket spot!

SHOPPING

Mitchell’s Book Corner: The sunny days ahead call for beach reads! Spend some time strolling through Mitchell’s Book Corner and browsing the shelves for your next favorite find.

Blue Beetle: A Nantucket staple, Blue Beetle is the perfect boutique for gifts, clothing, and jewelry. With stunning cashmere pieces, Nantucket charms, and quality finds, this spot is full of gems!

Current Vintage: Re-opening this April, Current Vintage is the best shop on Nantucket for vintage clothing and beautiful decor. Did I mention it’s also home to some of the best wine and cheese you’ll find on the island? Don’t miss out on a visit to Current Vintage!

THINGS TO DO / EVENTS

Beach Picnic: Head out for some fun in the sun with a picnic on one of Nantucket’s beautiful beaches (you can’t go wrong with any of them)! The rolling waves, soft sand, and delicious food will make for the perfect spring day.

Daffodil Festival: Mark your calendars as the annual Daffodil Festival, April 26 - 28, returns to Nantucket! With parades, costume contests, and a daffodil show, this beautiful weekend is an island tradition you have to experience at least once.

Relax by the Water: Whether you’re on the beach, by the harbor, or on the boat, be sure to spend some downtime by the water. You’re on an island, after all!

As the island starts to shake off the chill of winter, Nantucket transforms into a perfect destination for spring getaways. With its charming shops, delicious restaurants, and stunning natural beauty, there’s no shortage of activities to enjoy during this sunny season.

So why not pack your bags, leave behind the winter blues, and head to Nantucket to embrace the warmth and beauty of spring? Whether you’re seeking relaxation or adventure, there truly is something for everyone on this picturesque island.

Come and experience the magic of springtime on Nantucket–it’s an experience you won’t forget!
